Hailing from Alamo, Georgia, Taylor Mackenzie Troup is a 23-year-old Junior at the historic Wesleyan College where she majors in Advertising and Marketing Communications. She also serves as Public Relations Chair and Vice President for Wesleyan College’s Black Student Alliance, managing all of the social media accounts while also creating content.
Taylor began creating websites and graphics throughout high school and carried them out as she transitioned into higher education. Birthed from an Instagram hashtag, her business “All Things Taylor” focuses on photography, web design, and marketing consulting. Taylor has created websites for businesses and churches across South Georgia, helping them reach the masses by improving their areas of marketing. She has also interned for the USA National Miss Scholarship Organization, and continues her work as social media director for You Go Girl Enterprises. Through the lens, Taylor touches the hearts of others and the world one photo and graphic at a time.
Outside of being a scholar and business owner, Taylor enjoys competing in pageants. A few of her former titles are Miss Black Georgia Talented Teen 2020 and Miss Georgia Olive 2021. Taylor also enjoys modeling for G. Marie’s formal wear and public speaking. In addition to uniting her passions for social media and pageantry, Taylor spends her summers volunteering with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes sharing the love of sports and God.
Taylor’s most valuable lesson learned during her single season is having a purpose for the single season. She says, “I believe that people fail at preparing for marriage in their single season. I learned as I got older that in order to successfully become one in marriage, one must first do the work within themselves.” Taylor emphasizes the reality that personal growth is a crucial aspect to marital success.
