Kayla Anise Sloan is proof that resilience and style can go hand in hand. Born and raised in New Orleans, her life shifted in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina relocated her family to Houston, Texas. There, she attended St. Pius V Catholic School and St. Agnes Academy College Prep, where she learned early what it meant to lead with grace and ambition.
Her next chapter brought her to Atlanta, Georgia, where she attended Agnes Scott College, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. At Agnes, Kayla wasn’t just a student — she was a force. She served on the Student Government Association, Orientation Council, Witkaze Black Student Union, Senior Class Council, and made history as the founding president of the college’s NAACP chapter. She even added a crown to her résumé when she was named Miss Phi Beta Sigma at Morehouse College in 2015, and has since then became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated – adding to her family’s 3 generations of Finer Women.
Before graduation, Cigna Healthcare recruited her into sales, kicking off a career that’s since included roles with Revive Health and Kaiser Permanente, blending her talents in sales, marketing, and relationship building.
But Kayla’s story doesn’t stop at the 9-to-5 grind. She’s also a vibrant content creator, known for bringing together self-care, fashion, travel, and everyday adventure into a feed that’s authentic and inspiring. Her unique voice has attracted collaborations with brands like Third Love, Converse, IconSwim, and Beat the Bomb, among others.
Offline, Kayla lives life just as fully. She’s a regular at IPIC movie theater, Jeni’s ice cream, H&M, Treat Your Feet massage parlor, and her nail salon that knows her color by heart. She’s always down for a burger hunt, and if there’s a Southwest plane in the sky, there’s a good chance she’s on it.
With a big heart for giving back, she also pours her time into volunteering at the Atlanta Humane Society, the Food Bank, and Meals on Wheels. On top of that, she’s constantly taking on new DIY projects, sketching business plans for future ventures in marketing and branding, and building toward her next big vision.
