I met Seychelle back in our pageant days, when she was Miss Columbus and I was Miss Stone Mountain Yellow Daisy. We were roommates while competing for Miss Georgia America 2017 and instantly hit it off as two of the handful of black girls competing for the title. Her journey is a tapestry woven with faith, dreams, and determination. In embracing the twists and turns of life’s journey, Seychelle heeded the call of God uprooting her from where she thought would be her “forever”(living in the DC area) to go back to what she thought was familiar (moving back to Georgia) in June 2022.
She jokingly would state, “God you must have my husband in Georgia, ‘cause I don’t want to go back.” The only thing, however, that seemed to be missing from her journey that would propel her into the next phase of life, was a partner. Turns out, God has a sense of humor. In the year He moved her back to Georgia, He not only introduced her to her purpose partner (a divine meeting via the dating app, Bumble), Alexander Padgett, He also allowed them to be engaged before hitting their year mark dating and shifted them again by moving them to a new state (the Lord truly knows what you want).
By the end of 2023, Seychelle received one of her heart’s desires and a precious gift from God, she became a wife. Now in this new phase of life, Seychelle is enjoying the ups and downs, and is overall grateful for the blessing to experience it all with her purpose partner. Navigating together as the “Perfectly (Imperfect) Padgetts,” Seychelle and Alex are growing and learning with God at their center and seeking to glorify Him through their Kingdom Union.
